Since 2024, Rooted School of Indianapolis has trusted us with every major milestone leading up to graduation — three classes now. This year, the brief grew: help the school build a media program of its own.
Same steps back home, a different group of green gowns every May. This is what "documenting a partnership" actually looks like over time.
Rooted School Foundation runs a network of high schools built around one idea: give students a personal pathway to financial freedom, through a college- and job-preparatory model that looks nothing like a traditional school day. That model only works if three different audiences believe in it.
Parents choosing a nontraditional charter school for their child need to see it in action — real classrooms, real milestones, real kids — before they can trust it with their student's future.
A growing nonprofit network depends on donors and sponsors who need more than a mission statement. Luncheons, founder's day, and year-over-year visibility are how belief turns into continued funding.
Vendor-dependent storytelling breaks the moment the vendor leaves. A school built on "personal pathways" needed a way to keep documenting its own story — with or without an agency in the room.
"To reimagine and support the role schools play in giving students personal pathways to financial freedom — and scale that opportunity so more students can excel in school and after graduation."
Most vendors would have shown up for graduation and called it done. We built two things running in parallel — one for this year, one for every year after.
We replaced reactive, one-off requests with an annual plan built around the moments that actually move families and funders — tied to real campaign themes instead of random posting.
A school whose whole mission is re-skilling students for jobs that don't exist yet deserved more than content — it deserved a skill. We put a videographer and instructor on-site every Friday and walked a cohort of seniors through a real progression: observing, assisting, capturing, editing, then shipping a finished product of their own.
Coverage spanning every audience Rooted needed to reach — plus a curriculum designed to outlast the contract.
The cohort closed by covering a real event end-to-end — camera operator, interviewer, editor, and social lead — then shipped a finished student-produced project, presented to staff. Work is saved weekly to a shared drive, building an archive the school owns outright. Students who want to keep going get Content Pass opportunities for their own content creation.
A themed content calendar replaced ad-hoc requests — every post ties back to a campaign families and staff actually recognize.
Trained students can now capture and edit their own content — extending Rooted's storytelling capacity well past any single vendor relationship.
Enrollment-facing storytelling for families, donor-facing coverage for funders, and community-facing content that keeps culture visible year-round.
Milestone photography, event video, and social assets now exist as a reusable archive for admissions, sponsorship, and recruiting conversations.
The Classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026 are now documented on the same brand system — proof this isn't a one-off shoot, it's a record the school can point to year over year.
For a school built on personal pathways to opportunity, the most on-brand deliverable we made wasn't a video. It was a skill.
Rooted is what the Method looks like end to end — a brand built to be trusted, a story told across every audience that matters, and content fueled by a system the client can run on their own.
Clarify who you're for and why it matters before a single camera comes out.
Turn milestones and community moments into content every audience recognizes.
Build a system — and the people — that keep the story going after we leave.
The Brand Trust Score™ measures how a brand is actually landing with the people who matter to it — a complementary next step for organizations ready to go beyond content.
